My name is Lucy, I’m a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.

On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!

I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.

You’ll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.

Enjoy browsing!

Love,
Lucy

Love these Victorian vids, and all of the research you do in all of your historical style videos! Could you do a Beauty Beacons feature on Anne Lister, the subject of the new HBO series “Gentleman Jack”? She is a fascinating figure with an interesting style, and it would be cool to showcase an unconventional beauty!

For some reasons i hadn't watched this video right away but i finally did and oh my god!! The hairstyle is super elegant ☺☺ i believe that if you managed to tuck the hair a little better under the cushion in the back the result would have been even better but im still in awe at how pretty and refined this looks.

I'm struggling to see how the back looks. The eternal struggle of us dark haired girls. Maybe less backlighting would help it be less silhouetted? I love the multipurpose uses for hair extensions in this one.

Thank you so much for all that teasing you did to your hair in order to get this hairstyle. You're so talented. I was watching your fingers – they're so nimble as you manipulate the hair and the bobby pins. You make these styles look so easy and I know they're not.

Verry nice! It makes me think about princes sisi' maybe you can do her hair with lots and lots of extensions 😂 i would love to know how her hair was styled with all the braids. It must be extensions aswell. It cant all be her real hair. 🤔

And are you dutch? I saw a package from kruidvat in a previous video 🤔

I've had really short hair (shaved on all sides and 1-2 inches long on the top) for over a decade, but I'm finally growing it out (keeping one small side section shaved) because I really want to do some Victorian and Edwardian inspired hairstyles! I've been watching your channel for a rather long time since I found you through your Beauty Beacons videos, but soon I'll also be able to fully appreciate your hair videos too! ☺

I'm such a music dork and the piece she used for the time lapse is totally not Victorian and I'm like AHHH haha no!!!! Renaissance or Baroque maybe but not Victorian. The harpsichord gives you away my guy lol. I do love this vid tho!

I really enjoy these and look forward to you trying more from the book. Could you do a video showing the modern take on the styles that you do try from the book? I think those would be really interesting.
